    I don’t know much about makgeolli so I can’t give much advices but… can you tell me what’s in that skull bottle? I can’t hold my urge to ask this

    For me, any “생”막걸리 is great. Since I live in Germany, I’d see it the same as beer here, only needs natural ingredients and water. For that reason, I think makgeolli is very underrated, especially outside of Korea. You literally can’t buy traditionally made makgeolli in the western hemisphere. Even in Korea, you’d have to take the effort to search for non industrial makgeolli, where only 느린마을막걸리 seem to be like a nationwide player in that business. So,.for any makgeolli lover, I will always recommend to forget those big brand bottles with year long expiry dates, but look for the raw ones. Fresh makgeolli, yeast rice water, consume within a week, it’s the best.

    지평 is fine, but the best Makgeollis are the handmade fresh ones you can buy at your local sikdangs.
